Shepherd of the Lakes Core Values

CARING: For the Congregation

Caring is a mutually beneficial relationship with God, ourselves, and others.  God's love empowers us to building Accepting, Respectful, Honest, and Caring relationships with all people.

SHARING: Throughout our Community and the World

Sharing is giving from our abundance.  Shepherd of the Lakes is more than a building.  We are people Serving, Doing Ministry, and Moving Out across our community and into the world with Good News of Jesus Christ.

LIVING: The Life of a Disciple

Living as a disciple is Witnessing, Worshiping, Praying, and Growing in Faith. A healthy church seeks to lead the faith community into discipleship with Christ.  Living as a disciple emphasizes the responsibility to serve.

Pastor Judd Delancey

Pastor Judd Delancey came to serve at Shepherd of the Lakes Lutheran Church in 2018. He fell in love with Jesus and the Lutheran church as an adult and loves to talk about God's gift of grace found in the cross of Christ. Pastor Judd is pursuing a Master of Divinity degree at Trinity Lutheran Seminary in Columbus Ohio where he and his family originate (Yes, he roots for the Buckeyes). Before pursuing a call into ministry, he spent twenty years as a truck driver, delivering gasoline for Englefield Oil Co.

He and his wife of thirty years, Jessica, have three children, and three grandchildren which bring joy and laughter to their lives, along with a few grey hairs. As a family they enjoy hiking and all things water related, so the move to Michigan has been a blessing as they explore the beauty God's creation in the Lakes Area.

We are so happy you've joined us!
