A New Journey

We are starting on a new journey and need you here to encourage, 

support, and lift one another up.

During this time, we welcome Reverend Dennis Meyette.  He will lead our congregation in worship and celebration as our transitional pastor.

Pr. Dennis has been an ordained pastor in the ELCA for 14 years and has served as an Intentional Transition Specialist since 2007. An Intentional Transition Specialist helps congregations make healthy pastoral and ministry transitions within the context of congregational ministry.   


Pr. Dennis and (wife) Kathy have been married for 41 years and have 2 married daughters, and 2 grand children. Pr. Dennis and Kathy grew up in Saginaw, Michigan. They have lived in several places throughout Michigan during their marriage and currently reside in Linden, Michigan. Pr. Dennis worked in his father’s grocery business for 12 years and also for other retailers, and deciding to work towards pastoral ministry by going to college in 1995. Kathy worked for 11 years as a pharmacy tech for Wal-Mart.


Pr. Dennis is a 1999 graduate of Kyper College, Grand Rapids, Michigan and a 2003 graduate of Trinity Lutheran Seminary, Columbus, Ohio. He has served in ELCA mission congregations as a redeveloper in Port St. John, Florida and Macomb Twp. Since 2007 he has served as an Intentional Transition Specialist in Shelby Twp, Fenton, Clinton Twp, Berkley, Royal Oak, and has consulted with congregations throughout the Southeast Michigan Synod on matters of Transition Ministry.


Pr. Dennis and Kathy enjoy exploring historical sites, drives in the country, reading, golf, walking, and NASCAR.


Kellie Stasilowicz

Director of Youth and Family

Kellie was born in Pontiac, Michigan, and she graduated from Walled Lake Western High School. She is certified in Youth and Family ministry through Wartburg Seminary and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Social Work from Eastern Michigan University. She is the proud mother of a daughter and son who are also active in the congregation. Her passion lies in connecting people with God and other people. She has been building relationships with our children, youth, young adults, and families for the last nine years. Her life mission is to connect kids with Christ. 

Anita Welker

Administrative Assistant

Anita originates from Detroit, Michigan, and graduated from Thurston High School in Redford, Michigan. Her business education and background in various business-oriented fields serves her capacity as the Administrative Assistant. She has a loving husband and two sons of whom she is proud. Her passion is for maintaining a steady management and efficiency of office related activities for the congregation.  


Eva Every

Bookkeeper

Eva, her husband Dave, and their two sons moved to Michigan from Ohio in 1986 and joined Shepherd of the Lakes. Dave owned and operated a manufacturing plant for over 20 years while Eva ran the office and oversaw all the bookkeeping. The plant was closed in 2009 and in 2011 Eva began working at S & S Bookkeeping where she processes payroll and keeps up the books for several businesses. Son Josh lives in Allen Park with his wife Colleen and their daughter Madeline, while son Matt is a Pastor in Ruidoso, NM where he lives with his wife Julie. Grandson Will currently lives in Union Lake and is an apprentice plumber.

Beth Hadjis

Custodian

Beth was born in Detroit, Michigan, and she graduated from Thurston High School in Redford, Michigan. She has a background in business education. She also works in transportation for the Huron Valley Schools as well as in the Kroger Deli. Beth is dedicated to her two daughters and to serving the congregation.
